It’s Been In My Head For 25 Years… (at least)

April 21st, 2008 by Rob Osborn

Like most people, I get songs stuck in my head. Sometimes they are there and gone before i really think about them, sometimes i hum them to myself all morning, and sometimes, they stick around for days. Those are the annoying ones. Can anyone relate?

Last week i ran sound for a local production of “Godspell” at Boardman Highschool. The songs from that production (which i heard 4 times in 4 nights) have been bouncing around in my head ever since. The same thing happend when i ran sound for “Chicago” last winter. So, as the songs of Godspell were running through my head, another song suddenly jumped in and took over. Totally. Godspell = gone. Being that the songs are often subconscious, it took me awhile to realize what was going on. But, when i did, i realized that this wasn’t the first time i’ve thought about that song. The more i thought about it, the more i realized that the same song has been in and out of my head for a long time. As i continued to think about it, i realized that i haven’t heard the song since i was a kid…a very young kid.

Suddenly an idea dawned on me. Recently youtube went moble…which means that i can pull youtube videos up on my phone. So there, in the middle of the parking lot at a local car dealership, i did a youtube search and found the song. I thought i’d post it here, and share with all of you the song that’s been running through my brain for the last 25 years.

THIS is why I love him so much.

    Mystery solved.

Also, I think Tiffany (http://www.myspace.com/tiffanymusic) was responsible for the vocals.

So that’s where Ell got that song she sings at the most random times.

Great, now it’s stuck in MY head!

I’ve never heard the song before, but now it’s stuck in my head. I catch myself singing it at strange, random times.

“Me and my lama, me and my lama; are going to the dentist today.”

    See?
